Geoff Duncan On Healing Republican Party For Whom The Bell Rings 0:32 | Play story Add to My ListIn My List An audio version of this story.0:32At least 14 people were killed in Georgia after severe storms struck the state this weekend.The most severe weather hit the south-central section of Georgia.That includes a mobile home park in Cook County, where at least seven deaths were reported.“I’ve been with the county for 27 years.  I’m 57 years old, and my husband is 60, and my parents are in their 70’s and we’ve never had anything like this in Cook County,” said Cook Co. administrator Faye Hughes.“We’ll be sending crews out to survey the areas of damage, find out which ones were actual tornadic paths, which ones were straight-line winds, assess the intensity,” said Matt Senna, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.Dougherty County Commission Chairman Chris Cohilas shared to Facebook aerial footage of damage to the county, shot from a helicopter. According to the Albany Herald, there have been four confirmed deaths in the county.Gov. Nathan Deal tweeted that he spoke with President Donald Trump yesterday and thanked him for his support.“These storms have devastated communities and homes in South Central Georgia, and the state is making all resources available to the impacted areas.  These storms have resulted in loss of life, numerous injuries and extensive property damage, and our thoughts and prayers are with Georgians suffering from the storm’s impact,” Deal said in a written statement. “As we continue to assess the damage, I’m prepared to expand or extend this emergency declaration as needed.
