Thisindividual must have a deep enthusiasm for the experience of aliberal arts education, the ability to engage students from diversebackgrounds, and have a high level of initiative, organization andenergy. The director of admissions acts as a senior advisor to the seniorvice president and dean of admissions and financial aid on alladmissions matters and assists with strategic planning efforts;they are responsible for understanding national and internationalissues in higher ed and guiding recruitment and selectionstrategies accordingly; provides strong administrative leadershipfor the admissions process by overseeing the review ofapproximately 9000 applications and making admissions decisionsconsistent with institutional priorities; oversees the officebudget; manages all hiring processes; serves as a direct supervisorfor approximately 10 staff members. This position is involved inall areas of the admissions work, including recruitment, publicspeaking, event oversight, and travel. The director will be astrategic partner in the implementation of a comprehensiverecruitment plan measured by data and best practices.The director will join a well-established office team with deepexperience in admissions and will have the skills necessary tobalance the operations of a fast-paced office while remaining astrategic thought partner.
