USA Triathlon two day workshop for athletes and coaches

first_img Related USA Triathlon’s (USAT) two day educational workshop on 30-31 May in Littleton, Colorado is targeted at coaches and athletes alike and features USAT Level III Certified Coach Bob Seebohar and Olympic Coach and Running Expert Bobby McGee.The workshop is a USAT Continuing Education Course (CEUs) to bolster the experience of USAT certified coaches. USAT certified coaches will earn a total of 10 CEUs for attending both days of the workshop. 5 CEUs will be awarded for each day attended.The Practical Running & Mental Skills Workshop on 30 May with Bobby McGee is a full-day seminar on practical running and mental skills. The workshop focuses on how to evaluate mental performance, then to apply and habituate the psychological skills that will ensure greater access to fitness and ability on race day.On 31 May the Neuromuscular and Function Strength Training and Race Day Fuelling workshop with Bob Seebohar comprises two highly informative sessions. The first addresses neuromuscular and functional strength training for endurance athletes to learn the ‘secrets’ of strength training. Emphasis will be placed on neuromuscular activation, dynamic warm-up and the three key areas for endurance athletes to focus on before moving to traditional strength training exercises.The second session will discuss race day fuelling and the essential fuelling strategies needed for before, during and after racing from short to long distances. Special emphasis will be placed on fluids, electrolytes, carbohydrate, protein, fat, ergogenic aids and how to incorporate them into a race day nutrition plan to minimize GI distress and maximize performance.www.usatriathlon.orglast_img
