Mike’s father, Richard Sneed, preceded him in death.“Mike Sneed was a natural leader who set examples for others by how he lived his life,” said David Prater, president of the Network. “Mike hit the ground running when Mid-America joined the Network back in 1997, quickly becoming involved in the group, including a term as chairman of our national accounts committee that same year. Mike loved this industry, as he was a true car guy, and his enthusiasm and insightful perspective inspired us all. We already miss Mike. Our hearts go out to his beloved family at this time.”A loyal member of the Memphis Street Rods car club, Sneed refused to let his deteriorating health slow him down in recent months – literally. In June, he traveled to Wildwood, New Jersey, with Steve Tucker, the Network’s vice president of marketing, to compete in his first-ever Race of Gentlemen, the infamous beach racing event, where he won a first-round matchup despite what he called “wonderfully challenging conditions.”AdvertisementIn lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in his memory.
