LSU draws N.C. State in NCAA Tournament

first_imgThe LSU Tigers are back in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2009.The Tigers (22-10) drew the No. 9 seed in the East Region and will face No. 8 N.C. State (20-13) late Thursday night in Pittsburgh. The game will start after 8 p.m. CDT and be televised on TBS.Things got testy for LSU after it was one-and-done in the SEC Tournament following a loss to Auburn on Friday.The Tigers boast big road wins (at No.18 West Virginia, at No. 21 Arkansas), but also have puzzling losses. The Tigers lost to the three teams — Missouri, Mississippi State and Auburn (twice) — at the bottom of the SEC.Thursday’s winner will likely face No. 1 seed Villanova (plays No. 16 Lafayette) on Saturday for a spot in the Sweet 16.The TBS crew for Thursday’s game includes: Brian Anderson, Steve Smith and Lewis Johnson.last_img
